There are two primary tests of a person’s character: How cheaply can they be “bought” and how much are they “willing to pay?” The first is the issue of integrity and character, what it would take for a person to betray their values and beliefs. The second is an issue of unselfishness as it regards what lengths they would go to in order to do what’s right, even and especially when there is nothing in it for them. In today’s next-to-last episode of our Ruth series, we will meet two men, both of whom will be tested by both of these tests. One will pass. One will fail. How do you do when it comes to these tests? What is your price, and how much would you pay to simply do what’s right? It’s not an easy test, is it?
