Don’t Be Afraid! (Jim Shelburne)

Fear seems to permeate so many layers of our existence. We fear pandemics, the weather, cancer, financial collapse, politicians, government control, government neglect, change…and the list goes on. There indeed are a lot of things worthy of our fear, and probably a lot more that are not. Many of our fears are irrational, unfounded. Most all of them are baseless—because either they focus on things over which we have no control, or they would be found inconsequential on the stage of eternity. God’s definitive message every time He has come close (either himself or through angels) has been: Fear Not! We’ve heard that a lot at Christmas, but as we step into a new year, it’s still a good message to place deep inside our hearts as we move forward not knowing what 2023 will bring.
